No, I am not going crazy (well, I guess that is debatable), but I seem to have this horrible infliction, a hand-to-mouth kind of reflex that I cannot control. , Basically, I am very quickly eating my way through anything I can get my hands on. I simply cannot stop eating. If only it was fruit and vegs...but of course, it is random craving type things, like rice and umeboshi (wtf?) and peanut butter sandwiches, and of course potato chips and chocolate - can't get enough of that good stuff. Thank goodness R is away at PIL for a week's holiday, or else I may even have started gnawing on her drumsticks, aaah, I mean legs. I am so not even going to think about what is gonna happen at my next weigh-in (although last week I somehow managed to get through ok, being right on track for weight gain....) I just need some kind of self-control....or a straight jacket to keep my hands away from stuffing my face!
J is away until next Wednesday, in Indonesia/Malaysia for a business trip, which is probably going to be a bit of a waste of time now by the sounds of it, since his boss, who was supposed to go with him was not allowed to board the plane at Narita as his passport only has 4months validity left, so he couldn't get into Indonesia lol. What a dilbo.
Randomly, here are some yay's and nay's over the past few weeks:
YAY
♣ being pregnant, and having a belly so big your legs and butt actually start to look small!
♣ not having to clean or cook for a week or more (while J is away)
♣ having a girls date with K yesterday afternoon, after playgroup. After lunch, we went to Krispy Kreme donuts and sat like big girls on the comfy sofa chairs (one for me, one for K and one for "baby" (her doll) while we enjoyed the original glazed krispy kreme donut each, and a glass of water since they had no de-caf.) The we walked around a shopping centre (although I only actually went into two shops, H&M, and all we bought were hair clips for K!...looking forward to getting back there once I am back to normal-ish size, and Starbucks where I got the new sakura mug!). It was so much fun, I just let K do as she wanted (within reason, of course, the usual hold hands on roads rules were still enforced) but I let her take as much time as she wanted dawdling, picking up leaves outside etc. I actually felt relaxed after a shopping trip - amazing!
♣ doing K's hair in braids and piggy tails..she loves having her hair done, and I enjoy doing it! And of course she looks so damn cute with it all done up.
♣ being able to spend 1-on-1 time with K (probably the last chance for a while once TJ-baby gets here)
♣ being entertained with K's funny K-isms and just watching the things she does, the way she plays. She has really grown up so much, and I can't believe she will be 3 in just a few weeks!
♣ having a bubble bath
♣ going out for lunch with a friend, at an all-you-can-eat buffet!
♣ 30-Rock. My most recent US sitcom addiction. I am almost at the end of season 1 already.
♣ thinking of names for TJ-baby....and *possibly* having found a good girl's name
NAY
♣ getting wedgies from my undies - even the big gramma type ones (hence proving that indeed the butt is getting bigger, and the tummy/butt ratio thing is just an illusion)
♣ the house being a mess after not having to clean for several days already....tomorrow is designated CLEANING day (weekends mean nothing when J is not here)!
♣ missing J
♣ the skype connection to Indonesia being crap and not actually being able to talk properly when J rings
♣ eating so much I feel sick (but then starting again almost straight away - I am like a bottomless pit at the moment!)
♣ a stuffed up nose that I can't seem to get rid of
♣ trying to think of a good boy's name for TJ-baby...yikes. I wish I had kept the list we made before K was born....
♣ TJ-baby's "low kicks" (or possibly headbutting) - an experience I am not enjoying. Luckily they seem to have stopped for a while and we are back to regular punching bag exercise.
♣ J taking his super warm down jacket with him - what am I supposed to wear? I can hardly zip up any of my own jackets at the moment.

Oh you sound like my pregnancy twin!!! I ate so many umeboshi, like 10 in a sitting (I never get sick because nothing survives in my stomach thanks to them!!) and peanut butter Yumo-but an allergy childs soon stops that craving :(
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely date you had. Just not to rush is a great feeling isn't it, it gives the kids time to be kids and learn from what they are doing. I wish I did this more for my kids.
Yeh for business trips!! (why hasn't my husband been overseas lately?... mmm) No cleaning, simple cooking = refrehed mummy!!!
Good luck on names-I hated picking boys. I still want to use my girls name but there will be no more bables!!!? Actually have found another one I like too!!!
Yay for Sakura cups from Starbucks! Want to pick up mine as well but am considering wait until post move.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of... I hope maybe after TJ baby is here and things have settled down a bit for you, you'd like to meet up again! I haven't seen you since that day loooong ago when I was just pregnant with Sakura. It would be great to catch up again.
Hope things go well with the name search!! Its so bloody hard especially if the name of the first child is one you love and seems "hard to beat"
Loved your yays and nays!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the name picking.
We have already got another boy's name picked for if it's needed, but not a girl's one yet.
Boy's names are a lot harder to think of I found, and there were only 2 names I really considered (B and the new name) when deciding for B, so we've had this name up our sleeve for a long while now. We had A's name picked out before she was conceived too. If B was a girl he would have been A!lol
Wow I can't believe what happened at the airport! I knew they could do that though, but I've never heard of it actually happening to anyone before!
achan - if you don't have any more babies planned, and would like to share your name, I would love to hear it!! (understand if you want to keep it underwraps just in case tho, lol)
ReplyDeletePeanut allergy - that didn't happen coz you were eating peanuts/p.butter while pregnant did it??!? Must be so hard with a child with an allergy! You'll be happy to know I have staved off the umeboshi cravings that last 2 days...haha.
Sara - we have 4 sakura mugs now. There was a couple of years where I didn't like the design so didin't buy, but I think this year's is nice, and it is the same shape as last years, so it is almost like a matching pair now.
yay- please consider yourself on my list for morning tea then too!! I look forward to you visiting in a few months ;)
Kel - I have several names (first and middle conbinations even) that I like and have liked for a long time, but I don't think I will ever get to use them, as they are not easy to pronounce in both languages, mainly just english names really. Which is a shame. But again, they are mainly girls names. I am suprised you have an extra boys name!! I would like to use "S" as the first initial if a boy, but can't find a name I like starting with that (well, I have one actually, but I think it is more of a girl's name, esp in English)......will keep looking though. As long as we have some kind of list before I go into hospital I will be happy. The kanji, we can work that out after TJ-baby is born.
Would love to share my names but may jinx myself!! First time I fell pregnant it was within the first month of trying, the other two times it just happened!! While there is no baby planned I can't guarantee that there won't be another!! When I see people with 4 kids I always look at the pattern-girl, boy, boy then ????? girl!!! Yes I will have a girl!! but I am not going to try this hypothesis out, I couldn't emotionally handle another boy.
ReplyDeleteAllergies-I have 2 kids with them. My daughters peanut is a medium range and we plan to have her tested again soon to see if she has passed the worse. I should have known something was up when I was pregnant because I always felt ill after eating peanuts. My son has an egg allergy which hasn't really been hard to cope with so far. This could be because I don't like egg so I don't cook egg based dishes. The doctor seems to think he will gain strength and overcome this as he gets older. I hope TJ baby is blessed with good health.
I couldn't believe it when I read that you too are having an umeboshi/rice craving!! I don't even like umeboshi normally but for the last two weeks or so I just can't get enough of them. I have taken to peeling off the flesh of the umeboshi and then mixing it up with my rice every night. The best taste ever at the moment, lol!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with finding a name for tj baby!! We found that finding a boy's name that we both liked really really difficult. Actually there is only one name, and our future son (if we have one) will be named that without a doubt, lol! Don't know what we are going to do if we end up with more boys than girls...
I had to laugh about your dilemma regarding the winter jacket, lol!! I had to buy a new winter jacket while mum was in Japan because I seriously popped the zipper, ROFL!! Opps...
achan - you'd best keep that name under wraps then, JUST in case, then ;)
ReplyDeleteoh no - 2 kids with allergies! yikes. We use a lot of eggs, so I would have difficulties. Hoping TJ-baby is healthy too.
Nay - we so must be craving the saltiness of the umeboshi or something. I was never a big fan either but recently can't stop - had it for dinner last night, and even contemplating it again tonight, lol (just bought another pack at the supermarket tonight)
